The assessment tool (picture survey) is called KidsCountONE and is intended for children in Grades 2 and 3 (approximately 5-7 years old). The survey seeks to assess the conceptual and factual knowledge children have about basic elements of health and nutrition. Starting in 2016 the developers of Kids CountONE gathered formative feedback from professionals, including educators, educational psychologists, nutritionists, pediatric health educators to revise the survey and ready it for formal pilot testing with children.
The KidsCountONE tool will be ultimately administered orally and children will review and respond by pointing, verbalizing or circling a picture.
Post testing KidsCountOne is scheduled to begin in English and Spanish in Spring 2017.
